Yall are so awesome!  Longevity is what I wanted to help with - to keep giving when the inital response had died down.  So far, you guys have helped Bartow County, Georgia; Floyd County, Georgia; Flat Rock, Alabama; and Joplin's package will go out Tuesday morning.  Next set will be going up to Ringgold, Georgia, as they begin the rebuilding process.  As hot as it is getting out there, I figure lots of showers will be in their future.  If we can take away that cost from shampoo/conditioner, soap, razors, deoderant, toothbrush, toothpaste, it would be great!

In looking at the other deals, they seem to be all the same this week.  I do not do the register rewards or CVS deals because honestly I do not have the money to pay out of pocket until next time and I want there to be a clear distinction between my stuff and Caring for Coupons stuff.  Hope that makes sense!  I will be getting some Suave deodorant to add to the charity myself at CVS because 20 cents is a good deal!

This week, I am getting a large box together to send to Joplin, MO.  I have made a contact with a church over there that has opened up their fellowship hall as a shelter.  I have quite a bit of stuff in there already but could really use toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner.  If you have some really good ones/free of any of that, please send it ASAP and I will get this box out by Saturday.

New freebies list!

Keep those coupons coming!! 

I have received many, many emails about missing freebies.  I wanted to remind you that I am in the Southeast and sometimes our deals as well as coupon offerings are different from other regions.  Since I will be doing the shopping here in the south, I have to go by what is available here.  I want to get EVERY deal I can LOCALLY for sure!  Thanks for your help this past week as we learn!

I knew as this 'thing' grew it would need to evolve and we would go a certain direction based on what we learn.  I also learned that people are very protective of their couponing - Not necessarily their coupons as you have proved BUT they way they do things.  I know I might do things differently but my ULTIMATE goal is FREE stuff for storm victims.  Out of the thousands of coupons I received only those listed above were free.  I appreciate you guys giving so openly, but I am unsure what to do with the ones that aren't free!  I have the baby coupons covered so keep sending those.  It's the cleaning supplies, etc that I am unsure about.  Can you give me your feedback?  Have you seen a great idea in your area that I could 'steal' for these?  While I would love, LOVE, to go buy it all up and hand it out, that is just not feasible for my family.  Do you think a Battered Women's Shelter could use them - Maybe make them part of a packet for a women when she moves out?  Help me evolve this idea and make it something that will reach the most people!

Welcome to my site!  You can read up on my idea from previous post but, in a nutshell, I am hoping that couponers around the country can come together for a cause.  I live in the south and in an area affected by the horrible outbreak of tornadoes on 04/27/2011.  I want to help - long term.  My goal is to stock these families with any hygeine products they might need with your help!  Below are a list of freebies and coupons that I need to make this happen.  I have a network of shoppers in place to use what you send.  We are hoping to supply 500 items by the end of the month and can only do that with your help!  Stuff as many coupons as you can spare into an envelope and send them to:

A little more information..

I am still evolving my concept but plan to launch May 9, 2011. My goal is to have all who want to be involved sending their extra coupons to one location that are for hygeine. This week alone 11 items were completely free between 3 stores in my area. If we can get a network of couponers set up in different areas (those affected by the tornadoes in the southeast right now where I have 5 active networks in place), we can make a huge difference with little cash and little effort by a few people. Example: 11 items free x 6 coupons merchant allows = 66 items free PER shopper. Multiply that by 10 shoppers in each geographical area and that is 660 items (times 5 networks as of now!!) to go to those affected by the tornadoes last week with NO money spent out of pocket (less the cost of newspaper and stamp). Can you see the potential? My hope is to grow this into something that could fill boxes for our soldiers, shoe boxes for angel ministries, homeless shelters, battered women shelters and families affected by job loss.

Hi all!  Welcome to my blog!  I am from Bartow County, Georgia - an hour north of Atlanta and an hour south of Chattanooga.  Our county was one of the hardest hit counties in Georgia and has been declared a disaster on the federal level.  Floyd County houses our neighboring town and they too were right in the path of the tornado that ripped through Tuscaloosa and kept right on going.  My home and my neighborhood showed no damage when it was all done but just 9 miles down the road the destruction was unreal.  We woke up Thursday to no school and glued to the television.  What had this unbelievable force of nature left behind?  Within minutes live helicopter shots of Bartow County were on the television.  Complete neighborhoods gone.  We were all grieving for our neighbors.  Hesitantly thanking God that we were spared while praying for some kind of peace for their heartbreak.  Then, Bartow County went to work and it was unreal!  Clean up crews by the hundreds, clothing by the thousands, 18 wheeler trailer full of water from Coke and McDonald's (just to name a few) - it lifted your heart and you could just hope the storm victims were feeling it too - Love.  Love for strangers - love for mankind because..well that's the way its supposed to be.  You ask yourself and those affected what can I do, how can I help and pray for longevity in our response - that life never gets back to normal to the point that we don't look up and see who and how our neighbor is doing.

What can I do?  Heavy on my mind and I think, I hope I have a little bit of an answer that will show longevity.  Working on it now...
